2009-12-29 00:00

In a recent Motocross Action readers survey, readers were asked 3 questions. One of these was, " What was the most significant MX product in the last decade, and Why?"

They have published some of the entries at

Of the 40 or so entries published:

The overwhelming  majority, said the Leatt-brace was the most significant! often, even when they mentioned others, for Example another close ... not really close favourite was the 4 -stroke ...

Some of those, readers, then still went on to  acknowledge the Leatt

We've included a few, so you get the idea, follow the link above to see more:

Barry Crone
2. the unbreakable pivoting levers. Fears of a dnf from a broken lever a thing of the past.

Monte Hall
2. I would have to say the Leatt Neck Brace, as tracks have gotten more technical (dangerous in my opinion), it has become the most popular safety device on the market. Also, with David Bailey and Danny Chandler being so outspoken about wearing all the protective equipment you can get, it drives the point home.

Mark Swart
2. Machinery - The first production YZF 426, because it opened the flood gates for four strokes in MX. For better or worse, it is definitely significant.Gear - The Leatt Brace, which actually wasn't a necessity until the four stroke came along and people started getting dumped on their heads a lot more because there is no panic rev.
Accessories - I swear by my step seat, and wish I had one a long time ago even on two strokes! It saves energy and keeps me here I need to be after I start getting tired.

Brian Smyth
2. Without a doubt, the most significant motocross product in the last decade is the Leatt Brace. As a father of a boy that rides, the Leatt gives me a little extra piece of mind. In fact, I hope to see neck protection become mandatory in AMA sanctioned events some day.

Shane Peck
2.The most significant MX product in the last decade would be the Factory Fill oil fill bottle from Billy Who? It has specific marks for all popular bikes so you don’t have to check the bike manual. You don't have to clean the Factory Fill and you don't need a funnel to fill the bike up because it has an adapter. Converting charts are on the bottles so you can figure out many styles of measurements. The oil changing process on has been simplified with this product. You have to change your oil so often on the four strokes that the Factory Fill makes the job quick and easy. Anyone who changes their bike oil benefits from this product.
